The Tale of 110
Back in the 1970s, a pocket-sized revolution transformed photography: the 110 camera. It’s easily understandable why: the small cameras were easy to load, simple to shoot and inexpensive. Producing decent-to-high-quality shots, the simple yet mighty 110 camera made photography even more approachable and accessible. However, as 35 mm cameras became more affordable and user-friendly, trends shifted towards this larger format. Slowly, 110 popularity began to decline and it seemed destined for the vintage vaults.
But wait – cue the unexpected comeback! Small, easy-to-use cameras, characteristic photos that bring back warm, nostalgic memories – we knew that 110 hadn’t had enough yet. Many 110 cameras were still humming around, mostly destined to gather dust on display shelves, as all 110 film production had ceased. So…we brought it back in 2012, breathing new life into analogue artistry!
Starting with our Orca Black and White ISO 100 film, over the next few years, we began to expand our 110 film offering further to include a diverse range of creative films. Now, we’re happy to produce a full range of 110 film including color negative, black & white and even a miniaturized LomoChrome family. We will always remain committed to keeping analogue alive.
We love 110 for many reasons. Totally portable, you can aim, compose and shoot spontaneous snaps. A new perspective always brings out extra creativity and curiosity in a totally unique shooting experience: there’s no need to rewind, and you can even swap films mid-action, sacrificing only one frame.
Today, we are proud to be the sole producers of new 110 cameras and films! Our Diana Baby and Fisheye Baby cameras brought 110 experimentation to the world with features like bulb mode, multiple exposures and PC-sync flashes and now, we’re bringing the sharpest, most creative 110 camera around to life, the Lomomatic 110!
